ICNDT Working Group 5: Radiation Protection & Safety - meeting - 28 May 2024

The IAEA will be participating in a meeting of the International Committee for NDT (ICNDT) Working Group 5: Radiation Protection & Safety to take place in Seoul, Korea, on Tuesday, 28 May 2024 from 10h00-12h00. You are invited to attend the meeting and if possible participate by means of presenting some details of your activities in this field. The meeting will be held alongside the 20th World Conference on NDT at the Songdo Convensia, Incheon, Korea, where the meeting will be held (in Room 203).

The meeting will comprise a brief formal introduction and discussion followed by four or five 20-minute (incl Q&A) presentations.

The aims of the meeting include but are not limited to:
– Discussing developments in equipment and radiation safety systems, including future developments
– Discussing tools for NDT companies and organisations to optimise radiation protection
– Discussing training for radiation protection advisors, supervisors, and radiographers
– Sharing regulatory updates
– Highlighting good and bad practices
– Sharing learning from events including contingency plans
– Discussing current guidance and identifying improvements.

Should you wish to deliver a presentation on one of the above topics or another related aspect of your choice, please provide a title, author/presenter name and affiliation, and if possible a brief 200-word abstract, as soon as possible. PPT presentations will then be invited for selected talks (to be sent by 1 May 2024). Emails should be addressed to the WG Chair, David Gilbert at david.gilbert@bindt.org
